Mahogany Faux Bamboo Side Table

Description

A Scottish 19th century faux bamboo side table by John Taylor & Son of Edinburgh, C.1870

Beautifully crafted with octagonal top and pull-out candle or brush slide, raised on splayed legs terminating in original brass and ceramic casters.

After 1850, the company's workshops relocated to 109-10 Princes Street. By 1852, Taylor and Son were granted the prestigious title of 'Cabinet-makers and Upholsterers in Ordinary to Her Majesty the Queen at Edinburgh.
