Description

Antique 19th century Victorian side table in mahogany, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and a lovely period character.

The table has a single drawer, neatly concealed in the end of the frieze, offering useful storage for keys, letters or odds and ends while keeping the front clean and uncluttered.

It is finished with a raised architectural pediment to the back, centred by a carved shield-shaped cartouche, above a moulded top with canted front corners. The frieze has a central panel detail, and the table stands on elegant ring-turned and tapering legs.

The mahogany displays an attractive grain and a warm, rich colour with a lovely aged patina, especially across the top.

Presented in good condition with honest signs of age and use. A very desirable Victorian piece, perfect as a hall table, console, side table or small writing table.
