This pleasing turn of the century item is a wonderful example of a good country house piece which would have brought to prominence a very large ceramic vase or jar or similar, raising it from the ground and offering a degree of protection from possible damage.

This stunning circular carved wooden jardinière stand, with deeply carved egg and dart decoration with beading above, is still on the original brass castors. The whole demonstrates very good condition and colour, having been recently lightly waxed to feed the wood. The white marble insert is later, but effective and well cut to suit.

The flexibility offered in this wonderful piece makes it suitable for the original purpose and/or further as a base for standard lamps and other items where moving may be required for re-positioning or cleaning.
