Late 18th Century life size hand carved Christ figure A life size hand carved 18th Century figure of Christ, we assume of Spanish origin with exceptional hand painted detail. The woven crown of thorns is carved into the head with metal iron spikes. The reverse shows a few support joints that would have allowed this religious artifact to be attached to a wall of sorts. This item is life size carved from what we assume if elm wood and therefore weighs close to 50kg.
