Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Jacobean and Revival furniture typically features heavy proportions, deep relief carvings, and motifs such as strapwork and scrolling foliage, reflecting 17th-century English aesthetics.

These pieces are predominantly constructed from solid English oak, utilising traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon joints, hand-carving, and wooden pegs.

Authenticity is assessed by examining tool marks, timber shrinkage, patination, joint construction, and the consistency of wear patterns relative to the stated age.

Pairing a dark, intricately carved timber table with minimalist contemporary seating or clean-walled backgrounds creates a striking balance between historical character and modern simplicity.

Maintain antique oak by avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the timber.
