Prometheus Antiques has dated this Georgian Rosewood Pincushion Workbox to the Regency era.
The turned handles are in boxwood with original rings. The single drawer is beautifully applied with boxwood lozenges, turned handles and tiny wooden studs. The top has a large pincushion fitted which has probably been later recovered in velvet. The whole is in wonderful original condition with a slightly faded colour and original patina, there have been only very minor repairs over the years. A truly wonderful example of this type of pincushion sewing box. C.1825
