Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Anglo-Indian furniture originated during the 18th and 19th centuries, blending traditional British furniture forms with elaborate Indian hand-carving techniques. These pieces are typically constructed from native dense hardwoods and decorated with intricate floral, foliate, or geometric relief work.

Most authentic Anglo-Indian carved tables were made using high-density native hardwoods such as teak, rosewood (sheesham), or padauk. These woods provided the necessary durability to hold fine, intricate carved detailing without splintering.

Authentic pieces feature deep, hand-carved relief work displaying naturalistic motifs like vine leaves, lotus blossoms, or scrolling tendrils. Construction often includes interlocking fretwork panels, visible hand-cut joinery, and an naturally aged patina on the hardwood.

Incorporate the table as an accent piece next to clean-lined upholstered furniture to create visual contrast. The detailed woodwork pairs well with simple ceramics, neutral linen textiles, and minimal brass accents.

Dust regularly using a soft, dry brush to reach into deep carved recesses without scratching the surface. Apply a high-quality beeswax paste periodically to nourish the hardwood and preserve its natural protective finish, avoiding harsh liquid polished or chemical cleaners.
