Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Late Victorian and Edwardian stained glass frequently combined textured cathedral glass with hand-painted central roundels depicting botanical motifs. The style emphasised geometric border patterns framing organic floral subjects set within lead cames.

Traditional panels consist of coloured, textured, or painted glass pieces joined together using H-shaped lead cames soldered at the intersections. Structural integrity is maintained with putty placed beneath the lead flanges, often reinforced with metal saddle bars or timber frames.

Authentic period panels exhibit hand-painted details fired directly onto the glass, subtle surface irregularities in mouth-blown glass, and natural oxidisation on the leadwork. Original glass often features textured patterns like cathedral or stippled glass rather than uniform float glass.

Stained glass panels can be suspended in front of existing double-glazed windows to catch natural daylight or mounted as internal transom lights above doorway frames. They are also effective when back-lit inside timber frames to serve as feature wall art.

Clean glass using a soft, dry cloth or a mild, non-ammonia cleaner applied sparingly to prevent liquid from seeping beneath the lead. Avoid applying pressure to the lead cames, and inspect the structural putty periodically for crumbling or loosening.
