Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large French three-tier galleried brass display stand dates from 1910 and reflects the Hollywood Regency style. The piece has a tubular brass frame in a gold colour, three oval clear glass shelves, protective galleried rims around each tier, and small swivel castors at the base. One glass bottle stands on the middle tier. The structure measures 106.7 cm high, 76.2 cm wide, and 48.2 cm deep. Originally used as a dessert trolley in a Paris hotel, the stand runs very smoothly. Today, this functional item serves well as a drinks trolley or display stand placed in an empty corner of a living room, dining room, or hallway.

FAQs

Drinks trolleys became prominent in mid-twentieth-century European homes as popular entertaining accessories. French manufacturers produced tiered brass and glass designs during the 1950s and 1960s to accommodate cocktail culture and table service.

These pieces typically consist of solid or plated brass frames, toughened clear glass shelves, and brass-capped swivel castors designed for smooth movement across hardwood floors and carpets.

Authentic mid-century trolleys feature heavy brass framework, screwed or soldered joins rather than glued plastic fittings, original rubber or metal castor wheels, and natural metal oxidisation along the seams.

Position the trolley in a living room or dining space arranged with crystal decanters, glassware, and cocktail accoutrements, or utilise the tiers as a plant and book display.

Clean glass inserts with standard glass cleaner applied to a microfibre cloth, and wipe the brass frame with a dry soft cloth to remove dust without stripping the natural patina.
