Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Regency mahogany drum table exhibits a circular veneered top with cross-banding to the edge and carcase fronts, finished in a dark brown tone with a good original colour. The deep frieze contains revolving drawers fitted with round brass knobs and brass keyholes, supported by a turned central pedestal above four splayed sabre legs with reeded carvings and brass lion paw castors featuring an old gilt finish. The base includes scroll-shaped brackets joining the pedestal to the legs. Measuring 73.5 cm high, 101 cm wide and 101 cm deep, the table provides ample surface area and practical storage compartments. Suitable for placement in a formal study, library or central hallway, the piece serves as a functional centre table or writing surface in a traditional interior. The drum table functions effectively as a standalone piece in an open living space, offering accessible storage within its frieze drawers while maintaining a compact footprint on a floor.

Originating in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a drum table is a circular table featuring a deep frieze fitted with functional drawers, supported on a central pedestal base.

These tables were typically crafted from solid and veneered flame mahogany or rosewood, frequently incorporating brass handles, keyhole escutcheons, turned timber supports, and brass castors.

Authentic Regency drum tables often feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary drawer linings, original brass castors, and heavy central pedestals with splayed tripod or quadform legs.

A drum table functions effectively as a focal point in an entrance hall, an occasional writing desk in a study, or a central table in a large bay window.

Maintain timber surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying beeswax polish annually, while avoiding proximity to direct heat sources or prolonged sunlight.
