Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Delft tiles originated in the Netherlands during the 16th century, heavily influenced by imported Chinese porcelain, and became renowned for their distinctive tin-glazed blue and white designs depicting landscapes, biblical scenes, and maritime motifs.

Authentic period pieces are constructed from local clay, fired into a bisque ceramic body, and coated with a tin-lead glaze that provides an opaque white surface before being hand-painted with cobalt oxide and given a final clear glaze.

Authenticity is determined by examining the biscuit body for age-related wear, crazing, corner chips known as fritting, and hand-painted brushwork details rather than mechanical printing dots.

They can be displayed mounted in custom frames, inset into fireplace surrounds, or placed on picture ledges to add historical texture and contrasting colour to contemporary living spaces.

Preservation involves dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, and keeping them away from areas of excessive moisture or fluctuating temperatures.
