Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Sculptors tables, also known as modeling stands, originated in artists studios as functional furniture designed to elevate and rotate clay or stone sculptures during the creation process.

These utility stands were typically constructed from robust hardwoods and softwoods such as oak, pine, and elm, featuring heavy-duty iron or wooden rotating mechanisms to support the weight of heavy materials.

Authenticity is identified through period-appropriate joinery, heavy patina from accumulated paint and plaster, hand-cut nails, and the wear patterns indicative of genuine studio use.

This type of industrial furniture works well as an accent piece or side table in eclectic or minimalist spaces, allowing its historic character and paint-splattered surface to serve as a focal point.

Preservation involves gentle dusting and the application of microcrystalline wax to protect the dry wooden surfaces without removing the historic patina and paint splatters.
