Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This French Art Deco coffee table takes the form of a super oval two-tier structure with an overall height of 46 cm, a width of 99 cm, and a depth of 61 cm. It combines white variegated marble surfaces with a slatted metal frame finished in bronze, resting on small shaped feet at the corners. Suitable for placement in a formal reception room or a contemporary living space, the piece provides a main display surface and a lower open shelf supported by horizontal open bars. The contrasting textures of smooth stone and ribbed metal frame the open design, creating a functional centrepiece for everyday home use.

FAQs

French Art Deco design emerged during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by streamlined geometric silhouettes, symmetrical balance, and the integration of luxury natural materials.

Makers frequently combined solid marble tops with forged metal framework, including patinated brass, bronze, and wrought iron.

Authentic period pieces exhibit substantial weight, hand-finished marble edges, period-appropriate metal joinery, and linear slatted or tubular design elements.

Anchor the table centrally within a living space opposite neutral upholstered sofas to complement the contrast between the cool marble and warm metalwork.

Wipe marble surfaces promptly with a soft cloth and pH-neutral cleaner to prevent staining, while dusting metal frames gently to protect the aged finish.
