We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These nineteenth-century Grand Regency console tables combine carved oak and pine with slate tops, finished in an off-white paint. Each table rests on carved winged lion monopodium supports with detailed paw feet and features an intricate anthemion frieze along the apron. The dark grey slate tops provide a striking contrast to the pale carved framework below. Measuring 94 cm high, 166 cm wide, and 83 cm deep, the pair offers substantial surface space for display purposes. In a modern interior, these grand pieces suit placement in a spacious hallway, a formal drawing room, or along a prominent living area wall. They provide a sturdy platform for lamps, decorative objects, or large floral arrangements, adding classical architectural presence to the room.

Neoclassical monopodium console tables are characterised by classical architectural proportions and legs carved in the form of mythical beasts, such as winged lions or griffin supports, derived from ancient Roman and Greek design motifs.

These pieces were typically crafted using solid timber frameworks, hand-carved detailing, gesso or plaster prep layers, and multi-layered paint finishes, frequently topped with slate, marble, or polished hardwood.

Authentic period examples demonstrate hand-carved structural detailing, historic joinery methods like mortise and tenon joints, and natural age-related wear or craquelure in the painted finish.

A pair of console tables can be styled symmetrically flanking an archway, positioned along a long entrance hallway, or placed behind free-standing sofas in a spacious living area.

Maintain painted furniture by dusting regularly with a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, avoiding liquid solvents, harsh chemical cleansers, and direct exposure to damp or high heat.
