A bijouterie table is a glass-topped display case on legs designed for showcasing small valuable items, curiosities, and jewellery, gaining popularity during the late 18th century and experiencing a revival in the Victorian and Edwardian periods.

These tables are traditionally constructed from fine timbers such as satinwood, mahogany, or rosewood, frequently enhanced with hand-painted floral motifs, boxwood stringing, and glazed panels set above a fabric-lined interior.

Authenticity is identified through traditional joinery methods, hand-painted details rather than modern transfers, genuine hand-blown or early cylinder glass panels, and appropriate patination on the timber and hardware.

An antique display table works effectively as an occasional or accent piece in a living room or study, providing a functional surface to exhibit curated collections of vintage accessories or modern curiosities.

Preservation requires avoiding direct sunlight to prevent the fading of painted details and timber, maintaining stable indoor humidity, and dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth without applying harsh chemical polishes.
