The George III period spans from 1760 to 1820, encompassing the reigns of King George III, a time when British cabinet-making reached exceptional standards of refinement and craft, incorporating neoclassical influences and diverse native timbers like yew wood.

Traditional wine tables and tripod tables were crafted from dense hardwoods such as yew, mahogany, or oak, utilising turned central pedestals, pegged joints, and dynamic tripod bases to ensure stability on uneven floors.

Authentic Georgian pieces exhibit hand-cut joinery, natural patination from age and wax polishing, timber shrinkage consistent with centuries of age, and traditional construction techniques free from modern machine tooling.

An antique wine table adds historical warmth to modern spaces when juxtaposed against clean architectural lines, functioning effectively as a freestanding surface for a reading lamp or decorative object in a living area.

Preserve antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber grain.
