Carved stone fruit sculptures gained popularity during the early to mid-20th century, often utilised as decorative centrepieces on dining tables and sideboards. These items reflect the periods appreciation for stylised natural forms combined with exotic mineral materials.

Traditional pieces are typically crafted from carved and polished hardstones such as jade, quartz, or soapstone, mounted on wire stems often wrapped in silk thread or paper, accompanied by metal or carved stone leaves.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural mineral inclusions, cold-to-the-touch characteristics, and hand-crafted wire work with signs of age-appropriate oxidisation and wear on the stems and mounting points.

This piece can be displayed on a stack of art books on a coffee table, placed within a decorative bowl on a sideboard, or used as a sculptural accent on a mantelpiece to add organic texture and colour.

Clean gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and excessive moisture to protect the integrity of the stone and wire bindings.
