Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

A page turner is a hand-held implement traditionally used during the 19th century to carefully separate uncut pages in newly bound books without damaging the paper.

Page turners from the 19th century were crafted from a wide variety of materials including fruitwood, boxwood, ivory, bone, mother-of-pearl, and tortoiseshell.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural patination, hand-carved tool marks, minor wear consistent with age, and dense, traditional hardwoods such as fruitwood or boxwood.

Antique treen can be displayed on a coffee table, open bookshelf, or within a cabinet of curiosities to add textural warmth and historical interest to a room.

Preserve wooden treen by keeping it away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, applying microcrystalline wax sparingly only when necessary to protect the surface.
