Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

During the early 19th century, artisans utilised dense imported mahogany to turn functional and decorative household objects, known collectively as treen, reflecting the height of neoclassical and regency design preferences.

These items were traditionally hand-turned on a lathe using dense hardwoods like mahogany, allowing craftsmen to create precise symmetrical profiles, intricate rims, and stable circular bases.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit genuine patina, tool marks consistent with hand-turning, shrinkage cracks appropriate for their age, and the deep, rich colouration characteristic of period mahogany.

They can be displayed on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf to introduce historical texture, organic warmth, and sculptural form to modern minimalist or traditional spaces.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, occasionally applying a microcrystalline wax to nourish the surface without trapping moisture.
