Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Qing dynasty furniture is characterised by its heavy proportions, elaborate carvings, and sophisticated joinery techniques that evolved from earlier Ming designs into more ornate and decorative forms.

These pieces were traditionally constructed from dense hardwoods such as huanghuali, zitan, ironwood, or elm, utilising complex mortise and tenon joints without the use of metal nails.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the hand-carved details, traditional joinery methods, natural patina of the wood, and signs of historical wear consistent with age.

An antique low table functions effectively as a central coffee table, contrasting clean modern upholstery with historical texture, organic materials, and low-profile silhouettes.

Antique hardwoods should be kept away from direct sunlight and heat sources, maintained with micro-wax formulations, and protected from excessive humidity fluctuations.
