This nineteenth century Anglo-Indian occasional table is made from dark brown teak with a wax finish. The octagonal top has an inlaid central disc surrounded by a wide border of dense, high-relief floral and foliate carving. Below the top, four substantial openwork legs incorporate mythical animal figures and delicate scroll feet. The timber displays natural grain variations alongside a couple of minor losses to the base. Measuring 64 cm high, 51 cm wide and 51 cm deep, the table provides a compact surface for everyday use.
