Plate 249 }, by Geoffrey Godden in his ''Guide to Mason''s China and the Ironstone Wares'', long regarded as the standard work of reference on the subject. The base fully impress marked MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA, the body decorated with gilt foliage and butterflies, the gilded borders and handle now understanably a little rubbed after 200 years.
