This Georgian earthenware pottery liner dates from circa 1830 in the Regency style. The ceramic body carries a crisp white glaze and vibrant blue transfer printed decoration, displaying detailed floral foliage, vines, and butterfly motifs across both the interior and exterior surfaces. The vessel has a distinctive profile featuring a wide flared lip rim above a tapered body, with no visible restoration on its surfaces. The overall piece stands 15 cm high with a width of 26 cm and a depth of 26 cm. In a contemporary home, this decorative liner functions as an interesting punch bowl or a striking jardiniere to hold small plants. It sits comfortably on a sideboard top, table surface, or display shelf, bringing traditional English country house character to interior spaces.

An antique ceramic liner is an earthenware or porcelain inset container designed to hold soil or flowers inside a decorative outer planter, jardiniere, or wooden stand.

These vessels were typically crafted from earthenware or ironstone, coated in a white glaze, and decorated using copper-plate transfer printing with cobalt oxide blue ink.

Authentic pieces from around 1830 display subtle variations in the blue transfer application, slight glaze crazing, unglazed basal rims, and sometimes maker marks impression-stamped or printed on the underside.

A blue and white ceramic liner functions effectively as a central tabletop vessel, a holder for potted orchids, or a decorative object displayed on a sideboard or deep window sill.

Clean gently using warm water and a mild non-abrasive detergent, avoiding harsh chemicals, immersion for prolonged periods, or modern dishwashers to protect the lead glaze and transfer decoration.
