E W Cousins and Son has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The interior below is cedar lined with leather embossed backgammon board showing some wear. The top and lower edge of top having boxwood outline stringing. Two cedar lined drawers below each having secret locking system these flanking a dummy moulded framed panel conforming to the panelled reverse side. Paper makers label inside left hand drawer for T & G Seddon No 541 London House Aldergate Street. A baize lined slide under the central panel. A double moulded bead running around the lower edge. All on fine ring turned and reeded double columns sitting on swept reeded legs with brass cap castors.
