Donnelly Antiques Ltd has dated these Antique Leather Bound Books to the 19th Century.
The top edges are gilt and the spines are arranged in 6 gilt decorated fielded panels divided by 5 raised bands with the dates of publication to the tails. The journals were compiled by Charles Cavendish Fulke Greville (1794–1865) and published posthumously by Longmans, Green & Co. They were edited by Henry Reeve, Registrar of the Privy Council.

The books are presented in very good condition overall with some shelf wear and marks to the exterior. The gilding and the morocco is bright and fresh. Internally there is some light age toning and some occasional minor foxing, otherwise the pages are generally clean and tightly bound. There are some pencil notes to the front of volume I in which there is a marginal tear with a small loss, but not to text, to page 339/340; volume III has minor nicking to the top inner corners of pages 187-192, again no loss to text.
The books each have a height of some 22.3cms, a depth of some 15cms and whilst of varying widths the total run is approximately 27cms.
