Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Stockman was founded in Paris in 1867 by Frederic Stockman, becoming one of the most famous producers of handcrafted tailors dummies. These forms were engineered using precise anatomical measurements to assist haute couture houses and dressmakers in garment construction throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Traditional tailor mannequins were constructed from heavy moulded paper-mache covered in natural cotton or linen fabric. The torso was mounted onto a turned wooden neck block and supported by a heavy cast iron central pole and multi-footed base.

Authentic Stockman forms feature original stencilled lettering on the chest area specifying Stockman Paris, often accompanied by sizing numbers and patent marks. The underside or neck hardware frequently stamped with manufacturer details and mounted on heavy cast iron bases with distinct tensioning screws.

A vintage dress form serves as an architectural sculptural element when placed in a bedroom, dressing room, or hallway corner. It can be left unadorned to highlight its natural linen patina and typography, or used functional display for textiles and jewellery.

Clean the fabric torso using a soft brush or low-suction vacuum attachment to remove surface dust without disturbing delicate weave fibres. Avoid liquid cleaners that create water tidelines on aged linen, and treat any cast iron components with mineral oil to prevent rust.
