This early nineteenth century Regency dining table comes in warm brown mahogany and features a twin-pedestal base with reeded splayed legs, brass claw castors, and D-shaped ends. The timber shows a polished grain finish across the large top surface, while the pedestals exhibit turned columns and minor professional repairs to the legs. It stands 75 cm high, 177 cm wide, and 108 cm deep overall. Suitable for daily family meals or entertaining guests, this piece adapts well to a dining room or a large kitchen space. The adaptable design allows use as two separate side tables, a compact dining setting, or an eight-seat table for larger gatherings. Solid construction provides reliable daily utility for contemporary homes.

Originating in early 19th-century Britain, a Regency D-end dining table features rounded terminal sections designed to allow flexible seating configurations, often supported by central pedestal bases to maximise legroom.

These tables were typically crafted from solid mahogany or flame mahogany veneers, constructed with wood bearer rails, and fitted with solid brass toe castors on reeded splayed legs.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-planed underside timber, original brass tilt-top clips or brass bearer forks, reeded pedestal tripod bases, and natural timber oxidisation beneath the table top.

Contrast the mahogany wood tones with contemporary dining chairs, modern lighting fixtures overhead, and minimal tableware to create a balanced mix of traditional and contemporary design elements.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth, applying high-grade beeswax twice a year along the wood grain, and protecting the timber surface from heat and liquids using table mats.
