An extremely rare and unusual early 19th-century Mahogany Library Folio or Chart Table with a gilt tooled leather lined easel top and removable book rest ledge over one frieze drawer raised on square section legs having X-section end stretchers and with large inset castors.
 
Circa 1825

This table was made for a specific use and location. It has always been known as the Chart table by the previous owner’s family who are all descended from a long line of seafarers. The size and easel top would lend its design to examining admiralty charts.
