Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
1840 and is of superb quality. It has a beautifully figured top and above three drawers all with a key and working locks. The top drawer has divides originally used for cotton and the lower has a sliding basket originally to store wool. All the drawers have fine small turned handles. This beautiful antique table stands on a central turned pedestal, has a quad-reform base with scrolled feet and is finished on all sides so can be placed in the centre of a room if desired. It has aged to a rich Mahogany shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of mahogany wax finishing.
