Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the late eighteenth century and popularised during the Victorian era, a sewing table or worktable is a small occasional table designed specifically for needlework, featuring shallow drawers and often a fabric or wooden well beneath to store materials.

Victorian craftspeople frequently constructed fine work tables using rich timber veneers such as burr walnut, mahogany, or rosewood, embellished with floral marquetry, boxwood inlay, and turned solid wood legs on castors.

Authentic period examples display characteristic construction details including hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, original brass castors, natural figure and surface checking in the veneer, and decorative turned stretchers.

Position the piece as an accent side table beside an armchair, in a reading nook, or within an entryway to display framed artwork and ceramics, pairing historic craftsmanship with modern decorative elements.

Keep walnut furniture away from direct heat sources and harsh sunlight to prevent dry cracking or light fading, dusting regularly with a soft lint-free cloth and applying beeswax polish periodically along the wood grain.
