Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Card cases gained prominence during the 19th and early 20th centuries as indispensable social accessories used for storing calling or visiting cards. Artisans applied hand-painted miniature enamelling and engine-turned techniques to transform functional holders into refined statements of personal status.

These cases were typically crafted from sterling silver, silver gilt, or nickel base metals, featuring decorative enamel applied by fusing powdered glass to the surface at elevated temperatures. Premium examples incorporate intricate hand-painted central panels framed by engine-turned guilloche borders.

Authentic pieces generally display maker marks and silver hallmarks near the rim or interior rim structure, indicating metal purity and date of production. Genuine examples demonstrate precise hand-painted detail, precise hinge mechanisms, and age-consistent surface wear without modern synthetic resin fills.

Small decorative accessories can be styled atop a mahogany office desk, displayed flat inside a glass desk tray, or showcased within a glass curio cabinet alongside historic pocket collectables to introduce color and detailed craftsmanship to a room.

Wipe the surface softly using a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth, taking care to avoid harsh chemical cleaners or submersion in liquid. Store the item in a temperature-controlled environment away from direct impact to protect the vitreous enamel from chipping or moisture-induced silver oxidisation.
