Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Log carriers from the Arts and Crafts period, manufactured around the turn of the twentieth century, were designed to integrate utilitarian fireplace storage with hand-crafted aesthetics. Retailers such as Liberty & Co. produced functional wooden fuel containers featuring clean lines and sturdy timber joinery.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid quarter-sawn oak to showcase natural timber grain rays. Construction relies on slatted side walls, solid back panels, and traditional mortise and tenon or pegged joints designed to hold heavy loads of firewood.

Authentic items feature substantial solid oak construction, visible end-grain, and characteristic Arts and Crafts profiles such as arched backs or vertical slats. Some examples retain original metal design stamps or catalog model names associated with makers of the period.

Place the carrier beside a wood-burning stove or traditional fireplace filled with stacked logs. Alternatively, these pieces can be repurposed near a seating area to hold magazines, newspapers, or rolled wool blankets.

Keep the wood away from direct moisture and clean out accumulated ash or bark debris using a soft brush. Maintain the finish by applying a quality bees wax polish along the grain annually to prevent the oak from drying out.
