FAQs

Nesting tables originated in China during the Qing dynasty, designed to be stored within one another to save space while providing multiple surfaces for serving tea or displaying objects.

Authentic pieces are typically crafted from dense, durable hardwoods such as zitan, huali, or other exotic Asian hardwoods renowned for their rich grain and heavy weight.

Authentication involves examining traditional joinery methods, such as mortise and tenon construction without metal nails, alongside natural patina, hand-carved detailing, and timber shrinkage patterns.

These versatile pieces can be separated to function as individual side tables next to seating areas or stacked together in an empty corner as a sculptural display surface.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight to protect the finish, and dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth without harsh chemical polishes.
