Description

A superb 19th century William IV extending dining table in rare Goncalo Alves and attributed to Gillows of Lancaster. This 54in round table extends to nearly 9ft via a sliding mechanism allowing it to incorporate any combination of the three original leaves. Dating to c.1830 the round top with has a moulded edge and a plain frieze and stands on distinctive boldly reeded Gillows legs with original brass castors. In very good condition, spectacular grain to the timber which is also known as tiger wood.
