Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King William IV between 1830 and 1837, these tables bridge the late Regency and early Victorian eras. They are characterised by substantial proportions, solid mahogany timber, rounded top corners, and prominently reeded or turned tapered legs.

These tables were primarily crafted from dense mahogany featuring rich grain figure. Extension mechanisms often used telescopic wooden runners or winding mechanisms to insert removable leaves, supported by turned legs terminating in brass castors for mobility.

Authentic period examples display hand-cut joinery, original brass castors stamped with maker marks, and genuine aged patina on the mahogany underside. The extension leaf clips or brass table forks should also match the construction period.

Balance the visual weight of dark mahogany by pairing the table with modern upholstered dining chairs or minimalist architectural lighting. Neutral wall tones, natural linen table textiles, and contemporary artwork create a refined, eclectic dining space.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish twice yearly along the grain to maintain moisture in the wood. Protect the surface from heat and spills using table pads, and place the piece away from direct sunlight or radiators to prevent timber shrinkage.
