This Edwardian dining table is made of solid oak with a warm brown finish. The piece has a rectangular plank top resting on a wooden apron and four square tapered legs that finish on block feet, displaying simple clean lines and natural timber grain. The sturdy construction provides an ideal height for meals with room for seating at both ends, and the surface functions equally well as a study desk in a home office or living space. Measuring 75 cm in height, 183 cm in width, and 68 cm in depth, the table provides ample space for everyday dining or daily tasks. The solid build and versatile proportions allow it to suit a rustic farmhouse interior or a traditional dining room, offering reliable utility and enduring style for daily domestic use.

Edwardian dining tables, crafted between 1901 and 1910, typically feature lighter, more restrained designs than their Victorian predecessors. They often showcase clean lines, rectangular or oval tops, and tapered or turned legs made from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut.

Tables from this period were predominantly constructed from solid native hardwoods using traditional joinery methods, including hand-cut mortise and tenon joints. Oak was favoured for its durability, often paired with apron framing and solid wooden tops.

Authentic pieces exhibit signs of age-appropriate wear, natural timber shrinkage, and traditional joinery. Look for square or tapered legs with authentic foot details, hand-finished undersides, and consistent patination across the grain.

An Edwardian oak table can be styled alongside contemporary seating, such as upholstered dining chairs or mid-century wire frames, to create a balanced contrast. Placing low-profile ceramic vases or linen runners along the centre highlights the natural wood grain.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry, soft microfiber cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice a year along the grain. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and liquid spills to prevent staining or timber movement.
