Lincoln Restorations has dated this Georgian Mahogany Side Table to the Georgian era.
An exceptional and rare diminutive library table with a dummy drawer to the rear.
We bring to you this late Georgian library table, dating to circa 1820.
The rectangular top, cut with rounded corners and a cross-banded edge exhibits extraordinary depth, with its original French polished finish which has been carefully cleaned, revived, and traditionally hand-waxed.

The apron incorporates a full-width drawer opposite a dummy drawer to the rear, allowing the table to be placed centrally within a room as it is fully finished from all angles. The drawer itself retains its original turned mahogany knobs and fine hand-cut dovetails. The drawer runs smoothly on its original runners and locks via its original brass warded lock, complete with the period key.

Standing on slender, crisp ring-turned and reeded legs terminating in their original brass castors, the frame is structurally sound with no movement in the joints and is entirely free from woodworm.
At just 69cm wide, its compact scale allows it to serve comfortably as a side table, sofa table, or hall table. Finished to the highest standard all around, it makes a handsome writing desk, with the lockable drawer providing ample space to discreetly secure a modern laptop or paperwork.
