Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A tripod wine table is a compact occasional table developed in the 18th century, featuring a round top supported by a central turned pedestal stem and three splayed legs. Originally designed to hold wine glasses, bottles, or candles near seating areas, these tables provided portable surface area in Georgian reception rooms.

18th-century English tripod tables were primarily constructed from solid hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, and walnut. The components were joined using hand-cut dovetails, iron screws, and hand-lathe turned pillars, resulting in a durable structure designed for daily household function.

Authentic 18th-century tripod tables display irregular hand-turned stem details, asymmetry in the circular tops caused by natural wood shrinkage across the grain over time, and hand-cut dovetail joints securing the legs beneath the central column base.

Place a tripod wine table alongside a modern sofa or armchair as an occasional lamp stand or drink resting surface. Its minimal three-legged footprint makes it suitable for tight corners, reading nooks, or beside entry hallway seating.

Preserve solid oak furniture by applying natural beeswax polish once or twice a year to protect the timber patination. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber movement, drying, or cracking.
