A Georgian tilt-top birdcage table is an 18th-century occasional table featuring a hinged block mechanism that allows the circular top to tilt vertically and rotate 360 degrees upon a central pedestal stem.

These tables were constructed from solid hardwoods such as native oak, mahogany, or walnut, featuring hand-turned pedestals, hand-cut dovetail joints beneath the legs, and forged iron latches.

Authentic period examples display uneven hand-planed timber undersides, hand-cut iron catches, natural timber shrinkage causing slight oval distortion to the top, and wrought joinery marks.

A Georgian tripod table functions as a functional side table placed beside a modern armchair, inside a window bay, or positioned as a decorative plant stand in an alcove.

Preserve the natural timber patina by dusting regularly with a dry cloth and applying clear beeswax sparingly once or twice a year, avoiding placement near radiators or direct heat.
