Antique Early 20th Century Oak Umbrella Stand | Barley Twist

Antique early 20th century umbrella stand in oak, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and the classic barley twist turning so loved in the 1920s and 1930s.

The stand is of square form, with a moulded open top rail finished at each corner with a turned finial. A tapering central splat to each side keeps umbrellas and walking sticks neatly in place.

It is built on four barley twist uprights joined to a square moulded base, which holds a black drip tray to catch the rain, and stands on short turned feet.

The oak displays a lovely grain and a warm, rich dark colour with a pleasing aged patina.

Presented in good condition and ready to use. A very desirable vintage umbrella stand, the perfect addition to any hallway, porch or entrance.
