Ritas Bazaar has dated these Royal Worcester Porcelain Figures to the Victorian era.
Both stand on complementary naturalistic rocky terrain bases.

The pair is particularly appealing for its unusual multicolour decoration. Its ivory and soft-blush ground is enlivened with rose, lavender, muted blue and olive enamels, with delicate gilding to the clothing, ornaments and accessories. This richer palette gives the pair a distinctive appearance within the Blush Ivory range.

The undersides retain the printed puce Royal Worcester marks corresponding to 1893, together with the shared shape number 1243. The male is marked with Registered Design No. 78876 and the female with Registered Design No. 78877. The two designs were first registered in 1887; the date marks confirm that this is a true matching pair manufactured in 1893.

Dimensions: Male: height 22.9 cm; base 8.7 × 8.7 cm; weight 430 g. Female: height 21.6 cm; base 8.7 × 8.7 cm; weight 315 g.
Condition: The male has a very fine hairline at the point where his cloak meets the base, visible only under strong magnification. Otherwise, he is in excellent antique condition, with the original colours, enamels and gilding exceptionally well preserved. The female has a very fine hairline below the necklace. There are small areas of very professionally executed colour retouching to the reverse of her cloak, difficult to detect without magnification. She retains an excellent overall appearance, with very well-preserved colours, enamels and gilding.
