This 19th century Regency centre table, or gueridon, uses dark brown mahogany and grey marble materials. The round marble slab has a raised edge and sits above a flame mahogany veneered apron, supported by a flared central pedestal with concave curved sides and crossbanded edges. Carved claw feet with Egyptian inspired papyrus details at the sides stand at the base. The piece measures 72.5 cm high, 81.5 cm wide, and 81.5 cm deep. Placement suits a foyer centre or a principal reception room as an accent display surface for decorative objects. The dark brown timber finish and grey stone complement traditional or classic interior aesthetics, while the compact proportions fit smaller entrance halls or central seating groups.

A gueridon is a small, circular side or centre table originating in 17th-century France, supported by one or more columns or a central pedestal and designed to hold candelabra or small decorative objects.

Tables from around 1820 typically feature solid or veneered timber such as flame mahogany, complemented by polished marble tops and hand-carved or cast decorative feet.

Authentic pieces exhibit early construction techniques including hand-cut veneer joints, natural timber grain variation under historical varnishes, weighted bases, and detailed hand-carved paw or scroll feet.

An antique gueridon functions effectively as a focal anchor in an entry hall, placed in a bay window, or utilised as an elevated side table paired with contemporary seating.

Clean the marble surface using a pH-neutral cloth to prevent etching, and gently wax the mahogany timber base with a natural beeswax polish to maintain lustre and prevent drying.
