Antique Victorian Mahogany Corner Shaving Stand C.1890

Description

A late 19th century mahogany corner shaving stand, the circular framed mirror raised on an adjustable telescopic brass stem set over a lateral pivoting bow-front drawer, above an open shelf recess and lower cupboard.

Its 90-degree footprint and compact vertical structure allow it to fit neatly into unutilised corners, while its sweeping side splays and elevated brasswork lend immediate architectural character, visual interest and practical storage to a bedroom, hallway or dressing room.

Very good antique condition, showing historic water marking to the upper shelf and light, authentic foxing to the original mirror plate consistent with age. Structurally sound with original pierced brass hardware and smoothly operating adjustment mechanisms, clean and ready to place in the home.
