Marlborough Antiques & Interiors has dated this Antique Oak Kitchen Table to the 1920s.
Below are two useful frieze drawers, each retaining a brass cup handle and key escutcheon, raised on four straightforward turned and tapering legs.

The restrained construction and knee space make this an unusually versatile piece. Originally likely intended as a practical kitchen, work or preparation table, it works equally well today as a small writing desk, side table, serving table, console or compact kitchen table. At 107 cm wide it is particularly useful where a full-sized farmhouse table would be too large. Knee Height 60 cm

The oak has developed a warm, lightly worn surface with considerable character. The scratches, knocks and variations in colour to the top are consistent with its utilitarian history and add considerably to its informal country-house appearance rather than detracting from it.
A good, honest piece of early 20th-century English vernacular furniture whose simplicity allows it to sit comfortably in both traditional and more contemporary interiors.
