An antique 19th C. French Vendange Table featuring a fruitwood tilting top and sturdy oak base.

Originally used during the wine harvest, these "vendange" tables provided the harvesters with a place to sit, eat, and drink, with the clever tilting top allowing them to be easily stored away once the season was over.

A nice piece for a rustic/country style interior.

It stands sturdily, with age-related signs of wear and ancient woodworm scars.
