Antique Victorian Beech Luggage Stand by Brown & Lamont C.1870

Description

A Victorian luggage stand crafted in beech, the slatted platform top formed of broad open rails set within a substantial frame standing on turned legs.

Stamped and labelled Brown & Lamont of Chester, the premier 19th-century cabinetmakers who famously furnished Eaton Hall for the Dukes of Westminster in the 1860s. As the firm operated strictly between 1861 and 1875, this piece carries a definitive, narrow mid-Victorian date.

A highly practical and usable piece but also particularly effective as a decorative accent in a bedroom or dressing room.

Very good antique condition with an exceptional time-worn finish and honest surface wear. Structurally solid, clean and ready to place.
