Antique Gilt Bronze Oval Picture Frame

Description

This superb and beautifully designed gilt bronze oval picture frame features a detailed garland of roses around the top half of the frame, and scrolled acanthus leaves on the bottom as well as the 2 front supports. A delicate beading surrounds the front edge while the back displays a thin but attractive support leg. The two-toned shades of blue silk line the inside. This well sized frame would make an excellent accent or decorators’ piece for a wide range of rooms and settings, both contemporary and traditional.

Origin: French, C. 1890
