Penderyn Antiques has dated this Antique Oak Lowboy Table to the 1920s.
The table is raised on four slender, tapering legs. The table was likely originally intended to house a canteen of cutlery, as indicated by the maker’s label to the top drawer, reading ‘R Stewart – Silversmith & Jewellers, Corner Buchanan & Argyle Streets, Glasgow’. A versatile piece of furniture, it would work equally well as a side table, bedside table, hall table or occasional table, with the two drawers providing useful storage.
