This Georgian occasional table uses solid mahogany timber finished with a warm brown colour and a wax coating, measuring 70 cm high, 60 cm wide and 60 cm deep. The circular tray top features a raised moulded rim and a single-piece top surface, supported by a gun-barrel turned central pedestal. The base consists of three cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, accented with lappet carving at the junctions. The piece shows dark surface marks on the timber top and displays a rich patina with signs of age and wear across its surface. It serves as an occasional table positioned at the end of a sofa or in a living space within a home today.

A Georgian tripod table is an 18th-century occasional table featuring a circular top mounted on a turned central pillar supported by three downcurved cabriole legs.

These tables were predominantly crafted from dense mahogany or native English hardwoods, utilizing hand-turned central columns, brass tilt latches, and solid timber legs.

Look for hand-planed undersides, original iron or brass catch mechanisms, asymmetrical turned details, and natural timber shrinkage across the circular top.

Position the piece as an occasional side table alongside modern upholstery, or fold the top vertically against a wall to function as a decorative feature.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and central heating sources, dusting regularly with a microfibre cloth and applying beeswax sparingly once per year.
