Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian garden ornaments made from cast iron became widely popular during the nineteenth century due to advancements in foundry techniques, allowing for intricate figurative details such as cherubs, classical columns, and shell motifs.

These pieces were created using molten iron poured into multi-part sand moulds, resulting in heavy, durable structural pieces often finished with painted coatings to protect against oxidisation.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces display substantial weight, crisp casting lines, visible seam marks from multi-piece moulds, and multi-layered naturally weathered or chipped paint over oxidised iron.

Position the piece as a central focal point among foliage, within a flower bed border, or inside a sunlit conservatory surrounded by potted ferns and botanical greenery.

To preserve weathered cast iron, clear debris regularly, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, and apply a clear microcrystalline wax or rust inhibitor to seal the surface without stripping the historic patina.
